Summary

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies is a 2009 novel by Seth Grahame-Smith. It is a parody of Jane Austen's 1813 novel Pride and Prejudice, in which the Bennet sisters must fight off a horde of zombies while also finding husbands. The novel was a commercial success, selling over 2 million copies worldwide. It was adapted into a film in 2016.

Plot

The novel is set in England in the early 19th century. The Bennet family consists of five sisters: Jane, Elizabeth, Mary, Kitty, and Lydia. The sisters are all of marriageable age, and their mother, Mrs. Bennet, is determined to find them suitable husbands.

However, there is a problem: zombies. Zombies have overrun England, and the Bennet sisters must constantly fight them off. The sisters are all skilled in martial arts, and they are more than capable of defending themselves.

One day, Mr. Darcy, a wealthy and eligible bachelor, arrives in town. Mr. Darcy is immediately attracted to Elizabeth, but Elizabeth is not so sure about him. She finds him to be proud and arrogant.

As the novel progresses, Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy learn to see past their initial prejudices and fall in love. However, their relationship is not without its challenges. They must constantly fight off zombies, and they must also deal with the disapproval of Mrs. Bennet and Mr. Collins.
